HELP US WIN THE FLORIDA CITRUS SPORTS FEAST ON THE 50 Alumni Spirit Award and the Alumni Tailgating Olympic Championship!  

October 18th from 5:30-8:30 at Camping World Stadium



We need 1 volunteer at 3pm to help with set-up and 5 volunteers who can get in at 5:30pm & must work the tent for a 1 hour shift. 

AWARDS AND JUDGING: Florida Citrus Sports provides a platform for friendly competition among Alumni Clubs. This competition is for FUN, and we would like for everyone to enjoy in the festivities. Two awards will be given out: the Alumni Spirit Award and the Alumni Tailgating Olympic Champion. The schedule for the awards will be as followed:

  • 6:30 PM Judging begins for Alumni Spirit Award
  • 6:45 PM Alumni Tailgating Olympics begin
  • 8:00 PM Ballots will be collected, winners announced shortly after ALUMNI AWARDS CRITERIA

Spirt Award The Alumni Spirit Award will be judged in four categories: Alumni Vote, Interaction, Creativity, and Overall Presentation. If your Alumni Club chooses not to participate in the Alumni Spirit vote, you will be eliminated from receiving the Spirit Award. The club with the highest score will receive the Alumni Spirit Award!

  • ALUMNI VOTE: 5 POINTS • Each Alumni Club will receive one vote. • All 5 points will be awarded to the Club with the most Alumni Club votes. • You may NOT vote for your own Club.
  • INTERACTION: 10 POINTS • The amount of interaction extended to all guests
  • CREATIVITY: 15 POINTS • Presentation of items exclusive to the College, displayed creatively and uniquely.
  • OVERALL PRESENTATION: 20 POINTS • The amount of excitement generated by the booth. • The amount of glitter and pizzazz, and the ability to stand out in the crowd.Each Club will perform their fight song/famous cheer in front of the judges.

ALUMNI TAILGATING OLYMPICS Alumni Clubs are invited to compete in the 5th Annual Alumni Tailgating Olympics consisting of two events: Corn Hole and Water Pong. Each group must nominate separate competitors to compete in each event. Clubs will be broken into three time slots with 20 minutes dedicated to each.

The first session will begin promptly at 6:45PM, the second at 7:05PM, and the final session at 7:25PM. Each group will be given their designated time slot at check-in and it will be their responsibility to attend their appropriate session.

OFFICIAL OLYMPICS CRITERIA EVENT # 1: CORN HOLE - Each Alumni Club must nominate one competitor to toss 5 bags at a Corn Hole board. Competitors will receive 2 points for each bag that goes completely through the hole, and 1 point for each bag that lands on the surface of the board. Point determinations will be made after the fifth toss. A playoff round will be held only if there is a tie for first place.

EVENT # 2: WATER PONG - Each Alumni Club must nominate one competitor to toss 5 ping pong balls at 10 plastic cups arranged in a triangular formation on an 8 foot table.  Competitors will receive 1 point for each ping pong ball that lands in a cup, in which the competitors will then remove that cup. No re-racks. A playoff round will be held only if there is a tie for first place.

DETERMINATION OF OVERALL TAILGATING OLYMPICS CHAMPION • The first, second, and third place finishers in each Tailgating Olympics event will receive the following Olympic Championship Points:

  • 1st Place: 3 points
  • 2nd Place: 2 points
  • 3rd Place: 1 point

The Alumni Club with the most Olympic Championship Points will be crowned Alumni Tailgating Olympics Champion.A championship playoff will be held only if there is a tie for first place. The playoff will be held in the Olympic Event in which the tied Alumni groups both/all scored the fewest points, or, if there is no such event, Corn Hole.
